Cody’s Ministry Plan

Don’t miss tomorrow.  Cody is presenting his ministry plan to the church.  It is ginourmous.  This plan has the potential to turn our community upside down.  I as so excited.  The cool thing is that it’s success is based on the involvement of the church.  Everyone will need to be a part of it.  It does not matter if you are 2 or 92.  You can be involved.  This is the missing link to our Christian life.  So many times we simply rely on someone to feed us.  This plan will allow us to not only be fed spiritually but to help fed others who are starving for the word of God.  Don’t miss it…it is huge.

DisplaceMe Update

Here is a link updating the outcome of our efforts at DisplaceMe.  I love that little things done with a heart to serve God can change the world.  This generation of youth has the potential to rock the world we live in. Keep it up.  Speaking for those who can’t speak for themselves is always a good thing.

Displace Me

An Update with a Side of Thank You

Friends. Dear, dear friends.

The year is almost over. With 2008 just around the corner, we have so much to look forward to and be excited about. And while it’s important to think about the days ahead, it’s just as important to stop and look back on everything that’s been accomplished. The progress that’s been made in northern Uganda is incredible. Night commuting has all but ceased. Peace talks are underway and in the final two stages. The U.S. has appointed Senior Diplomat Tim Shortley to focus on conflict resolution in the region. Uganda’s President Museveni has given the LRA a deadline of January 31 to come to a peace deal.

This crisis is finally getting more and more of the attention it needs and deserves, and you are a huge part of that. Take a minute and watch this brief video update from Jason, Bobby, and Laren to get a better look at what you’ve helped accomplish. We can’t say thank you enough.

We’ll see you in the new year.

Happy Christmas,
Your IC Family

Don’t Miss This Sunday’s Big Event

Sunday is the first ever Youth Led Praise Event.  It is so awesome to see the teenagers in our town coming together to boldly proclaim God’s name.  It will start at 4:00 and end at 6:00.  A lot of heart has gone into the planning of this, and it promises to be awesome.  Se ya Sunday.

Questions about Christianity?

One of the kids asked me a question about Christianity.  He asked how people could beleive in Christianity after all of the aweful things that have been done in the name of religion?  The question was posed to him on a blog he set up.   It is a valid question that requires an authentic answer.  The answer I gave him lies in the character of God.  Many of those events were neither Christian or Godly.  They were committed by people he were seeking their own gain.  Paul says the fruits of the spirit are clear.  Galatians 5.  Anyone have any questions like this?

Meals for Moms

As part of our No Strings Attacehd Service Ministries,we cook for single parents that go to our church or that people have told us about.  We had 10 kids show up tonight.  These kids work hard and they cooked for 4 families totaling 20 people.    Like the mowing, the kids have embraced this ministry and made it their own. They have done an awesome job. I get to be a part of the ministrty, but my job is mainly to make sure the kitchen doesn’t catch on fire.  I absolutely love being a part of this ministry. I will post video of some of the preparations as soon as I learn how to do it.  I am not sure they know the impact that they are having on the community.  It is so awesome to watch these kids serve God.  Spritual maturity doesn’t have a specific age sometimes.

Mowing Mondays

I am always blown away on Mondays,  We had 7 kids this morning show up to mow.  These kids are so dedicated and their attitude rocks.  Even though they are hot, sweaty, and tired they continue to work and serve others in love.   We knocked on probably 20 doors and were turned down about 10 more times before we finally found a house that would let us cut their yard.  It always seems like we are wandering but God always leads us to a house of someone in need.  Today, one of the houses we mowed had grass that was about 2 feet tall.  I was talking to a lady that lived there and she said the yard guy quit coming by and her father, who owns the house, just had open heart surgery.  It is so amazing to see where God will lead you if you are faithful and obedient.  What an awesome God we serve.  Thank you so much to those kids who have inconvenienced themselves to  help me learn more about God this summer.  This is their ministry and they have served well.
