No Stings Attached-Just Getting Warmed Up

This Saturday our No Strings Attached Service Ministry is going to participate in a meaningful service project.  We are going to make blankets for the people in 1 nursing home here in Luling and for our widows.  This has the potential to leave a mark on all of us.  Anytime we have served others it has changed me but this time is special.  I haven’t been in a nursing home in about 10 years since my grandparents passed away.  It is something that I do not feel gifted in.  This time, gift or no gift, God is calling me to help.  I don’t feel comfortable there.  I think a lot of the problem is just unfamiliarity.  I also think I don’t want to allow myself to acknowledge that there are so many people that need comfort and companionship.  I am so excited because people of all ages are pitching in for this project.  It is going to be awesome.

No Strings Attached Video

I finally got the video working for the Meals for Moms ministry we did this summer.  It is so awesome to see the kids serving others with joy. They worked so hard to provide 3 families a week with a hot meal ready to sit down and eat.  Oh Yeah…that dessert they are making is sopapilla cheesecake.  You read correctly.  SOPAPILLA CHEESECAKE and it rocks.  Thank you Barbara Huff for the recipie. This truly is an awesome ministry and I think that God only has bigger things in store for us.

You never know who you’ll see at Pizza Hut.

I saw a family at Pizza Hut tonight that we had mowed for this summer.  The family’s mom had just started chemo the week before we mowed her yard.  Something unexpected has happened through this ministry.   We not only impacted this family’s life, they have impacted mine.  I won’t be able to forget her and it caused me to pray for someone that I never knew existed before.  I have not had a day go by that I haven’t thought of this lady.  Our lives have become entwined by one simple act of obedience.  I have a suspicion that this is how God has intended our lives to be.
